Soak two small handfuls of dried fruit in plenty of water overnight. The next day add two cups of lentils. Place the clay pot on the prepared fireplace and pour the lentil and dried fruit mixture into it.
If the liquid boils away too quickly, add a little more water. Now remove the pot from the fireplace and cover it. The residual heat in the pot is enough to finish cooking the lentils.
Then salt and sprinkle with chopped roasted hazelnuts. For the absolute taste sensation drizzle the lentils with honey as soon as they are on the plate.
